Monday, January 5, 2015 saw the arrival of the first two of three two flatbed trucks containing major elements of our new Archives building. This new building, located at 330 Lynn Street in Baraboo Wisconsin, will be the new home for the Lake States Railway Historical Association and our Archives. Our new permanent home will include new office facilities, an expanded research area and a threefold increase in Archival storage facilities.
All underground work (Water, sewer, electrical service) is complete and the foundation and floor have been poured. Soon our project will gain a high level of visibility in the community as the wall framing and roof rise above the concrete.
Pictured below is the floor plan for our new facility. Those who are familiar with our current facilities will immediately recognize the magnitude of the coming improvements!
As we move forward in 2015 we continue to seek financial contributions to complete the funding of our new facilities. It is our hope that when we take possession during the second quarter of 2015, we will have achieved full funding. We sincerely ask that you, the reader, consider a contribution in any amount to support of the new Lake States Archive Building. Your tax deductible contribution can be sent to our offices at the following address:
